For the record, I still don't buy it. I just cannot fathom that a guy who was not allowed to watch television a week ago because the activity was too taxing is now ready to play football. Still, even being on the football field is farther along than I would have expected.

It's not an "announcement", per se. It's just an acknowledgement that this is where GameDay will be located. I have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, I never watch the show and find it obnoxious and boring. On the other, ESPN is the king of the college football world, and when ESPN comes to town for a game, it can do nothing but good for you.

The show airs from 9-11 a.m. Central time Saturday. ESPN’s Rob Stone interviewed Jones in front of the pitcher’s mound at Alex Box Stadium and the two discussed his 93-yard punt return against Mississippi State, the Tigers’ remarkable goal-line stand against the Bulldogs and his success on both the football field and baseball diamond.
