Kendell Beckwith commits to #LSU Over Alabama sbn.to/138Qo6w

As mentioned this morning, East Feliciana ATH Beckwith just gave his pledge to LSU over Alabama. Great to secure the top instate player. Beckwith is 6'3", 225 pounds and though he played LB in high school he could project there or at DE at the next level. Perhaps he seamlessly takes the role vacated by Kevin Minter? Who knows at this point. At any rate, an outstanding grab. We're steam rolling into NSD!
LSU sophomore punter Brad Wing will not play for the Tigers in the Chick-fil-A Bowl, a source close to the situation confirmed Thursday. LSU is set to play Clemson in the game Dec. 31 in the Georgia Dome.
Wing, a left-footed kicker from Melbourne, Australia, will likely be replaced by fellow Australian Jamie Keehn, a freshman from Queensland. LSU Coach Les Miles could not be reach for comment.
UPDATE from Tiger Rag:
According to one source in the athletic department, Wing’s suspension is related to a failed drug test. Wing was suspended for LSU’s opener against North Texas, also a result of a failed drug test, the source said.
If the suspension stands, Wing, who averaged 44.8 yards per punt in 2012 after averaging 44.4 yards per punt in 2011, could have played his last game as a Tiger. The redshirt sophomore is eligible for the 2013 NFL Draft and, according to multiple sources in the athletic department, will likely pursue a professional career and enter the draft.
"The deal would earn Miles nearly $1.5 million per year more than he currently makes at LSU. Miles will make $3.8 million for the 2012 season, second in the SEC only to Nick Saban’s $5.4 million."
The 4-star defensive tackle from North Carolina has long desired to be a Tiger and finally got his mother's blessing after this recruiting weekend. BIG get for LSU. Greg will have a great chance to come in next season and be a part of the two deep. On ESPN, Greg said "6 of the 8 they use are leaving." I'm sure some of that is recruiting speak, because at most, I count 5, and things are still up in the air on Mingo, Logan, and Montgomery. Regardless, he'll have a chance to play. Great pick up.
Four former LSU football players were arrested Thursday on drug-related charges, officials said.
Jordan Jefferson, Tyrann Mathieu, Karnell Hatcher, and Derrick Bryant were all charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, law enforcement sources told WAFB's Jim Shannon and Kiran Chawla.
The former players were in the process of being booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison as of 4:45pm.
Poseur mocks ESPN to ESPN. Pretty much the highlight of my year. Oh, and we talk Texas A&M-LSU on UNITE.
