So, here's the problem. Because of the Hornets TV contract (which stipulates that all Hornets games, home or away, will be carried live on Cox Sports) the amount of LSU games on TV this year has increased over last year by 1, but some key dates are missing. No games in February will be televised, including the season opener v Air Force and a road game at Tulane. The SEC opener against Miss St. gets carriage, but the Sat game in the series is pushed off of Cox because of a Hornets game. In addition, the Bama series opener, the Pontiff Classic, and a popular mid-week v. USL are all missing and all conflict with the Hornets.

The missing games, and anything listed as being on Comcast Sports, may all be picked up on Cox 4, but that's not exactly ideal. If you've followed along during basketball season you've already seen the wonders this station creates (70's quality SD picture, games getting cut off for Lotto drawings). Still, it's better than games not being on TV.

For those interested, LSU is again selling HD Video Geaux Zone packages for the season (which now works on iPads as well) which will have every home game not on TV and even some that are for $40 for the entire season.

BATON ROUGE - Adam Henry, who spent the past five seasons on the coaching staff of the Oakland Raiders, has officially joined LSU as wide receivers coach, head coach Les Miles announced on Friday.

A native of Beaumont, Texas, Henry was a four-year letterwinner as a wide receiver at McNeese State from 1990-93 and later served on the Cowboys coaching staff for 10 years. Henry coached the wide receivers at McNeese State from 1997 to 2005 and then added assistant head coach and offensive coordinator duties in 2006.

"Adam is a very talented coach," Miles said. "He's a tremendous teacher on the field and he comes to us with a very strong background having spent five years in the NFL with the Raiders and another 10 years at the collegiate level at McNeese.

"He has shown the ability to teach and instruct at the very highest levels of the game. We are excited about what he brings to the staff. He's going to give us a youthful energy that will help us continue to develop our receivers."

I was going to save this for tomorrow, but Miles' comments on Gunner Kiel are starting to become a story. Miles says Kiel "...did not necessarily have the chest and the ability to lead a program..."

It's got a bit of a sour grapes tinge to it, but then Miles' speeches at the Bayou Bash have a history of being a bit pep-rallyish. I assume someone will ask Kiel what he thinks about it.
