2013 CB Rashard Robinson Commits!

This isn't much of a surprise to those who have followed closely. Robinson earned an offer in April, camped here a couple weeks ago and was back on campus for an unofficial visit today and couldn't resist pulling the trigger. He's listed at 6'2", 163, so a tall, lean corner. He's got elite make-up speed and a fly haircut. Fits the mold of the type of outside CB we typically covet. Really like his ability to turn and run. Not afraid to tackle, but not a hitter either. He's a true cover guy. Super long armed. Reminds me, physically, of Tharold Simon. Goes to the same high school as Patrick Peterson and younger brother Avery Johnson attended. Really nice pickup. That brings the class to 22. Only 3 spots left to fill and there are some big names left on the board. The Robinson commitment does make you wonder where we stand with Priest Willis, who is amongst the best CB prospects in this year's class.

A Pair of Weekend Commitments

It was a big weekend in Baton Rouge, as Les Miles and the Tigers' coaches hosted a camp (it's still going) for up and coming recruits both for the 2013 class and those in future classes as well....

Frank Herron Commits!

This happened Friday afternoon, but I didn't want to get in the way of all the outstanding CWS coverage by Poseur and PK. Herron is a fast rising prospect right now. Barton Simmons over at 24/7 LOVES him. He recently won DL MVP and was voted the no. 2 prospect at the Best of Memphis NFTC Camp. Herron fits well with what we've recruited lately at DE. A long, lean, raw athlete with all sorts of tools that need to be sharpened. He gets by on crazy athletic ability for now, but what I love hearing is that he's a relentless competitor. Great, great get for this class.

JUCO TE Logan Stokes Commits!

Stokes committed this weekend. I'll be honest and say, I don't know a whole helluva a lot about this kid. Good size (6'5, 240). He's a JUCO. TE will be a big position of need going into next year especially, as we have no distinguished replacement once Clement graduates. Here's a pic after his commitment. Here's some free tape. He's got some blocking ability. More importantly, he can catch a bit. I would imagine he'll likely be in line to start next season.
