Ok, I'm here in New Orleans and it certainly feels like not a whole lot of Irish fans made the trip. I mean, I've seen some Irish jackets here and there, but not nearly as many as I thought I'd see. Could be the middle-of-a-work-week game that prevents a lot of them from being able to make the trip, and maybe the eleventy-two year bowl victory drought, but still...a bit surprising.

Meanwhile, rejoice! For the Tiger Smack is back from sabbatical. Head there for much more amusing commentary than that which is to be found on these premises.

Holy hell, Nick Saban took the job at Bama. Well, poo! Cause I like, totally believed him when he said "I'm not going to be the Alabama coach." And stuff. I just hate that I'm going to be rooting against the guy, but it was your decision, Nick, not mine. It's on you, man. On you. Roll Bama will have all the coverage to fulfill your wildest desires.

I'm not sure what ESPN's Mark Schlabach is smoking but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that nothing JaMarcus Russell does tonight could even remotely approach what happened with Vince Young in last year's Rose Bowl. But hey! Anything to build up a meaningless (for most folks, anyway) BCS game.
