Via the LSU Sports Information Office (PDF), there are a few nice tidbits I thought worthy of sharing. Some you may know and some you may not.
- LSU has the nation's longest winning streak at 13. The Tigers also have the nation's longest home win streak at 17. Thanks Stanford! The home win streak is tied for a school record, set 70 years ago.
- LSU has forced a 3-and-out on 32 of 75 opponent possessions.
- Between offense and special teams, Jacob Hester averages 53.7 plays per game. He might not win the Heisman, but I'm not sure I could find a player more valuable to his team. Oh yeah, he hasn't fumbled in a Mike Hart-like 212 straight carries.
- Since 2003, LSU has won 50 games, two behind USC for most in the nation.
- Under Les Miles, LSU has six fourth-quarter comebacks. Five of those times, the Tigers have scored with less than two minutes left to either win or force overtime. Talk about clutch.
- Don't chill the champagne just yet. LSU has the nation's third-best road record since 2003 (21-6). One better than them, Oct. 20 opponent Auburn (18-5).
