"Our young offensive line got a little taste of the veteran defensive line today," [head coach Les] Miles said of the scrimmage, which was closed to the media. "But that was good for them. We had some young linemen mistakes and that happens."
With eight returning starters on defense, that unit appears to be ahead of the offense, Miles said.
"The defense is pretty good right now, there isn't any question," he said. "It (the scrimmage) was competitive to a point, but there wasn't going to be any long drives against that first defense."
