Some nuggets from around the Tiger Nation:

One question in Chatmangate was answered Monday:

Acting head coach Bob Starkey said Monday that Berry's status on the staff had not changed in the wake of reports that Berry is the coach who went to LSU officials with allegations of improper conduct between former LSU coach Pokey Chatman and one or more players.

"Coach Berry is very well respected by our players and by me," Starkey said after LSU's NCAA bid was announced.

"She'll continue to be a positive part of our program."

Oh yeah, the LSU women's team is still playing. The Lady Tigers were awarded the No. 3 seed in the Fresno Regional and will play UNC-Asheville in Austin, Texas, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. LSU got a great draw in terms of trying to reach the Final Four for the fourth straight year. UConn is the top seed in the region and Stanford is the No. 2. You'll remember that LSU lost a heartbreaker to the Huskies earlier this year.

LSU baseball plays McNeese State tonight. The Tigers are struggling mightily at the plate, hitting just .240 this year. LSU's has just four starters batting better than .245. Meanwhile, the pitching staff has an ERA of 4.50. It's not setting up to be a good year at The Box.

In ESPN's latest mock draft (subscription) on March 12, JaMarcus Russell is still the first projected pick.

Georgia Tech WR Calvin Johnson will be tempting if a deal is made to move WR Randy Moss between now and the draft. Otherwise, the Raiders have a glaring hole at the quarterback position. While some concerns have risen regarding Russell's work ethic, owner Al Davis should still favor the strong-armed Russell over Notre Dame QB Brady Quinn.
