CHAMPIONS!

This is and always will be a blog for football, basketball and baseball. But every now and then you have to give props to the other sports, especially when LSU is so successful in them.

The women's track and field team won the NCAA National Championship today, its 25th overall and 14th in the outdoor season. The ladies ran off an unprecedented 11 in a row from 1987 til 1997 outdoors and are well known for being the best track and field program in the country.

Props go out to head coach Dennis Shaver, who has finally stepped out of the shadow of Pat Henry and won his first national championship. It took four years, but Shaver has won his championship and proven to be yet another great hire by the Bertman Administration.
