Yes, he was safe. Yes, it was a bad call. Yes, it completely switched momentum and it had a huge impact on the game.
But LSU lost by six runs. We let UCI score 11 friggin' runs. We let up a three-run shot when the game was still tight. (Yes, I use "we" when talking LSU sports.. deal with it). Our bullpen allowed eight runs in three innings.
So it's not like we didn't earn this loss the old fashioned way. And you can't blame UCI for overselling the tag: that's what you are supposed to do. The ump blew the call. But it was LSU who blew the game.
