Post-Practice Interview 12/14/09
Finals are over so the team is back to work. Charles Scott is at practice, but is no-contact for now and his status for the bowl game is unknown. Practice is also short a few coaches as Porter and McCarthy are gone (Memphis and the unemployment line) but Wilson and Gonzales have not yet been cleared to do more than just watch practice. This week is a typical practice week schedule, 2 days intense practice, then a light one at the end of the week.
Speaking of Gonzales, comments from Urban Meyer are fanning the flames that he is an OC-in-waiting.
"Billy left because he was passed up last year for the offensive coordinator's job (which went to Steve Addazio). It was about the title."
P.S. McCarthy-gate remains in standby, probably for the rest of the year.
The team banquet was Sunday, and Harry Coleman won the Cholly Mac Team MVP award.
College Hot-Fryer: Helenihi signs with the Cubbies; Dean, Ranaudo, and Ott make 1st team preseason All-America.
The Lady Tigers destroyed Houston-Baptist and NC A&T to win the inaugural Sue Gunter Classic. The final match should have been against USL, but the Cajuns could not make it past the A&T Aggies in the opener.
The men return to the court tonight at 7pm against Nicholls. The game is televised on Cox Sports.
Pause today to remember Fred "Skinny" Hall, the 1946 Eastland MVP winner. Fred played football and baseball and attended every home game for 62 years. He was 89 years old.
