LSU scored a whopping 50 points in the second half, and a surprisingly balanced offensive attack lifted LSU above McNeese. Great Job!
Yesterday, I cried for one of the "other guys" to step forward. I didn't expect four guys to play big today.
First up, Aaron Dotson. Dotson, who I've criticized all season, got 10 points for the Tigers. Dotson was 4-6 from the field and 2-3 from downtown. Dotson also added 5 assists. Great Job!
Next up, Zach Kinsley. Zach Attack sank two three-pointers and had 8 points, 3 assists and 2 rebounds as a starter. Great Job!
And how about Garrett Green and Dennis Harris? The twin big men had identical stats tonight- both of them shot a perfect 3-3 from the field for seven points apiece, and both of them sank a three. Each also chipped in a rebound and a block. Green added a steal. Great Job!
Dotson, Kinsley, Harris and Green combined for 32 points. This is what I've been talking about: None of them were superstars tonight, but they were all contributors.
I'd add in Chris Bass as a contributor as well. Though Bass only had 2 points, he had 5 rebounds and 6 assists. That's a contribution as well. Great Job!
Chris Beattie added 2 points, so that's a total of 36 NTBS (Non-Taz-Bo-Storm) points, which has to be the most all year.
As for Taz, Bo and Storm, all of them had fine days for the Tigers. Taz led the Tigers with 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Bo sank 4 three pointers and had 18 points. Storm grabbed 10 points and 5 rebounds.
Three-pointers were the story for the Tigers. LSU sank 10 three-point shots in 21 attempts, and 5 players sank at least one: Bo, Dotson, Kinsley, Green and Harris. Great Job!
Just about the only downside is that McNeese somehow out-rebounded us. But that's almost a positive. Our offense was so good tonight, we were outrebounded and we still dominated.
A win like this is exactly the kind of boost the Tigers needed heading into SEC play. If we continue playing like this, we'll be fine.
Great Job!
