Allison Hightower has received her official invite to the WNBA draft. She is easily a top ten pick and will be the 7th 1st-round pick from LSU.

12th-ranked Softball blasted McNeese St. for a 7-2 win on Wed. night, bringing the win streak to 24, and to 3rd on the all-time school streak record. They stay on the road this weekend with a series at 6th-ranked Florida.

Baseball's home series against UGA will indeed feature the return of Ranaudo in Tonight's game. Saturday will feature the first of a few jersey re-retirements this season, beginning with the man who is arguably most responsible for LSU's Golden Age, AD Emeritus Skip Bertman.

Kevin Faulk was named to the Patriots '00's All-Decade Team.

Jack Diesing Sr., the man who turned the CWS from a budget drain into the premier attraction in Omaha, and for whom the Diesing Award for outstanding CWS series player, the only MVP-type award officially endorsed by the NCAA (won last year by J Mitchell), has died due to complications from Parkinson's disease at the age of 92.
