Champions get top billing. After many long rain delays throughout the weekend in Knoxville, the Women's T&F team pulled through to win the SEC Outdoor championship (that's #22 for those counting at home) including an individual title in the discus for Samia Stokes. The Men's squad finished in 2nd place with Walter Henning successfully defending his SEC title in the hammer throw.

Softball fell one run short of taking the SEC Tourney title from Bama, falling 5-4 in a very hard fought game. As is with baseball, Softball's post season is just beginning. Word came late Sunday night that the ladies have earned the #12 seed and will host a regional with McNeese, USL & Texas A&M.

Megan McChrystal will be playing in the NCAA Women's Golf Championship starting on Tuesday in Wilmington, N.C.

Baseball was swept at Kentucky for the first time in 19 years, recap coming shortly.

A bit of football recruiting news this weekend as we lost top WR prospect Bradley Sylve of South Plaquemines to Bama(insert another Miles-Saban argument here). Also this weekend, we secured a commit from St. Augustine offensive lineman Trai Turner.

The Times-Pic has a piece on how JaMarcus Russell is adjusting to life without a team.

On a personal note, those of you who patronize some of Baton Rouge's finer establishments may have run into PodKatt, Big Wee, Pat, et al this weekend. It was not my bachelor party, but I do have some great friends.
