The world didn't end, much to everyone's surprise.
I think this was the final straw for me. It's time for Jordan Jefferson to grab some pine. Three straight games without cracking 100 yards passing is just too much to handle. Early on, JJ looked pretty good, but he was let down by his receivers and some bad o-line penalties. But then he just completely came apart. He looked terrible by the games end. This team, simply put, is a mediocre quarterback away from greatness. Jefferson doesn't need to be a Manning, he just needs to be average, and it seems he can't do it.
It's time to play Jarrett Lee. I do not believe Lee is some superman who has been screwed over. In fact, he looked terrible in his start against La Tech last season, but it's time to try something... ANYTHING... at this point. Jefferson is simply not the answer. Lee likely isn't the answer either, which is a waste of a terrific defense.
And, boy, is the defense good. The only thing better than LSU's defense is LSU's special teams. Those are units that seem capable of literally anything. Which only makes the offensive struggles more frustrating.
LSU should have won this game by 20 to 30 points. Worse yet, the team knows it. The offense has officially cratered. It's time to try something new.
We're on the cusp of greatness. Let's figure out the way to get there.
