Well well. In last weeks post's comments, Matt and Nearl promised a battle royale for the top spot in the charts and both failed miserably, posting 5-7 records. With things so close at the top, what would the damage do to the full standings? Standings, last weeks results and this week's picks after the break.

SO BEGINS THE REGIN OF THE TAFFY JAR! As we hit the midway point of the pick'em the top part of the group (basically anyone with +40 points) is starting to pull away from the pack, leaving the rest of us (myself included) on the outside looking in unless we make up some serious ground this week. The Staff Trophy is now held by Geaux Show host Pat (the godfather) who is slowly inching away from us.

A second half surge and some help from Ohio St. helped Nebraska save their B1G home opener, but it wasn't enough to clear the spread in this weeks bad pick of the group.

If the charts above haven't given you a hint about it, I'm bad at picking this year, so take my advice at your own risk. The Bama spread can't be big enough. A&M still collapses to easily to win by more than a score. UF will have a better QB, but AU is still a SECW team. Vandy keeps it close at home. In Mich-Mich St. I'll take the team that didn't lose to ND. The Okie St. spread feels waaay to small. And finally, the Greenies inch closer to their 9th straight losing season.
