The ATVS 2011 NFL Draftstrvaganza!

You know, if Roger Goodell kneeled before Zod he might actually gain a few cool points back for this whole lockout deal. (Photo by Joe Robbins/Getty Images)

I love the NFL Draft. Growing up a Saints fan it was one of the few beacons of hope each offseason, and the more I grew to love the college game the more I liked watching and trying to predict (badly) where guys will wind up. And now with all this labor B.S. going on, this might be the last little bit of NFL goodness for a while. Factor in the proud papa aspect of watching Patrick Peterson go in the top 10, and it makes for a fun night, so I decided to bring in the rest of the crew for a more active version of the draft diary this year. Feel free to chime in in comments while Poseur, Paul, Pod Katt and I weigh in live!

The action will begin below the jump...

7:45 p.m. (Billy): Well, just getting in front of the computer finally, and so far we have our first major trade (great, and I thought I was done worrying about Julio Jones), our first let-down pick (was praying Aldon Smith dropped) and our first shocker in Jake Locker going top 10. Locker has every tool in the shed but the Titans just took a kid that really struggled as a one-man show and are placing their franchise hopes on him. Think about that.

7:53 (Billy): Good lord the Falcons gave up two 1's, two 4's and a second rounder for Jones. Was Mike Ditka negotiating?

7:57 (B): Smartest Cowboys pick in a few years. Tyron Smith is a stud that fills a big need. Double-J needs to protect his boy ROMO.
