LSU coach Les Miles expressed uncertainty when asked whether offensive tackle Alex Hurst would return this season, according to Randy Rosetta.
Hurst did not show up to LSU's game against South Carolina on Saturday, and Miles has not specified why. Since last week, members of the media have speculated that Hurst left the team for personal reasons.
Hurst's departure is yet another blow to the LSU offensive line that has already lost left tackle Chris Faulk for the season with a knee injury. In addition, right guard Josh Williford is struggling with a head injury.
Hurst is a senior and has been a starter on the offensive line for three consecutive seasons. Josh Dworaczyk filled in for Hurst at left tackle, and Vadal Alexander started at right tackle.
LSU has another challenging opponent this week as the Tigers head to No. 20 Texas A&M. The Aggies have managed 20 sacks in their first six games.
