Details continue to emerge following the arrest of four former LSU football players, including Tyrann Mathieu. The Baton Rouge Police Department released the police report following the arrests.
According to the report, officers obtained consent from Mathieu to search the apartment where the players were arrested. Below are a few other details from the police report:
Officers were dispatched to an apartment after a complaint of a man attempting to force his way through a security gate. That man was later identified as former LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson.
After a confrontation with a maintenance worker, Jefferson entered Mathieu's apartment.
When police arrived, they immediately smelled a strong oder of marijuana and obtained consent from Mathieu to search the apartment.
During the search, officers found a marijuana grinder, a digital scale and 10 bags of high grade marijuana. Seven of the bags were found inside Derrick Bryant's backpack.
Mathieu and Jefferson were charged with "Simple Possession of Marijuana." Karnell Hatcher was charged with "2nd Offense Simple Possession of Marijuana." Bryant was charged with "Possession With Intent to Distribute Marijuana."
All four will be booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
