There was news on the hardwood this weekend that may have been even bigger than the Men's 3OT upset of Alabama. The Lady Tigers, beset by injuries, game delaying snow storms, and family tragedies, rallied together to beat Mizzou and #7 Kentucky over the weekend with just 8 scholarship players remaining on the team, a win that has Kentucky fans scratching their heads. The wins have catapulted LSU back into a low 40s RPI ranking, refueling hopes that they would reach the NCAAs and play their opening rounds in front of a home crowd. (The PMAC is home to 2 opening rounds of the NCAA tourney this year, and unlike the men's game, the NCAA actively tries to have teams play in their home venues.)

Also over the weekend, LSU softball took 4 of 5 at a tournament in Palm Springs, including a win over #14 Arizona and a no-hitter from Rachele Fico against Ohio St. Now ranked in the Top 10, the team will play 5 games in 3 days this weekend at a tournament at Disney World in Florida that includes 3 ranked teams

Members of the Mountain West conference are questioning the leadership of the entire organization in internal memos. For what it's worth, the NCAA is giving Emmert the typical "vote of confidence", but who know how long that will last.
