Lets hit the gripes in order, shall we?
Week 1: A "home" game in Houston. *sigh* Other than the location nonsense, this is going to be a great series. Note that the game in Houston will be called the "AdvoCare Texas Kickoff" Nice of them to get a pyramid scheme to sponsor that "home" game. It will be LSU's first game in Houston since facing Rice in 1983.
Week 2: Some shuffling here pulls in the D1-AA national runner up to the first game after the South Expansion is completed. This game replaces a game that was supposed to be against Georgia Southern. Too bad we couldn't find a marquee team to play to christen the new digs. Say, a top tier OOC from the Big Ten maybe?
Week 3: ULM looks like a good pull now, but this will be after their current star QB graduates and who knows if that coaching staff wont get poached. Still, I like playing Louisiana teams and this matchup could draw some national interest.
Week 4: Playing State in September just feels right. Same day as Flora-Bama so we should get a night game here.
Week 5 & 6: I wish things were broken up a bit more, but that's how it goes sometimes. At least we got to keep the Florida game.
Week 7: I guess mid October Jefferson Pilot heat death isn't as bad as mid September Jefferson Pilot heat death. In a weekend crowded with good SEC matchups, this will likely be LSU's first game on the SEC Network. Better hope your cable provider has picked the station up by then.
Week 8: Ole Miss on the weekend as close to Halloween as possible. It's also the weekend of the Cocktail Party, so there is a high chance of a night game here.
Bye 1 & Week 9: The game where the scalpers make all of their money back. Feels weird to have the home slate end on Nov 8th
Week 10: THE BOOT IS DEAD! LONG LIVE THE BOOT! I do hope this game goes back to War Memorial in Little Rock.
Bye 2 & Week 11: So disappointing. I had a blast going to the A&M game last year, but there's no way I (and many other LSU families for that matter) will ever be able to go to College Station for a game on Thanksgiving Day. There is nothing official about what happens in 2015 when A&M comes back to LSU, but The Advocate piece from last night hints that we'll be keeping the Friday after Thanksgiving time slot for those.
There are some other changes around the conference (A&M and ARK going back to Jerrah World) but LSU and A&M on Thanksgiving Day is the big move.
