Monday Press Conference 2014 - Week 9

Les Miles meets with the media after an outstanding performance against Kentucky on Saturday and a College Gameday appearance this coming weekend.

Les Miles was all smiles today starting off this press conference with, "These games are the reason you come to LSU." Miles was ecstatic with the way the team played in all three phases of the game. The only thing you could say he was disappointed in were the fans. He told the fans to "bring food" so they could stay all four quarters of the game. Now going back to Kentucky, Miles said he wanted to start off fast and they did by scoring 17 points in the first quarter and mentioned Magee's return setting up the short field. He again stated how pleased he was with the special teams while talking about Tre'Davious White's punt return touchdown. Miles believed this was a complete game with the offense, special teams and defense all clicking together. Danielle Hunter and Jamal Adams were a couple names mentioned when talking about the defense saying Hunter played a "great game" and people asking Miles, "Who is No.33?" when talking about Adams.

Coach Miles then moved on to Ole Miss and said that Coach Hugh Freeze is doing a great job in building such a good team on both sides of the ball stating their impressive statistics on offense and defense. Miles even said the Ole Miss quarterback Bo Wallace, "...may be one of the best quarterbacks that have gone through this conference." He then mentioned how talented of a group they have on defense with big names up front, linebackers that "can run all over," and secondary that covers the top really well. He believes that they are a team that deserve their ranking and one that deserves the best from their opponents. Coach Miles also talked about the history of the Ole Miss rivalry bringing up Cannon's Halloween Run and Odell's Halloween Run(?). Miles is going to enjoy the preparation this week and looks forward to playing a quality opponent.

Little Notes

There were no changes on the depth chart this week. Travonte Valentine is still not eligible to play regardless of his warm up against Kentucky.
