Composite 3-star CB Ugo Amadi made it official today, committing to LSU. The Nashville athlete was once an Ole Miss commit and formerly considered a heavy lean to Tennessee. But the coaching staff was able to work their magic in luring Amadi down to Baton Rouge, despite him never taking an official visit.
At 5'10", 180 pounds, Amadi is well-built, and could factor into the CB mix as early as next season. One of his best assets, however, are his return skills. Amadi is simply explosive with the ball in his hands. He displays good patience and a knack for finding the return lane. Considering LSU's struggles with both kick and punt returns in 2014, he could be a player that could add some immediate jolt there.
He's a bit raw as a corner, but his pure athletic traits transition there positively.
The other big bit of news from this commitment is this:
I know where @K72_Phillips going and he going with me

He's tweeting about Kyle Phillips, the composite four-star DE also from Nashville. Amadi and Phillips are close friends, and there have been rumors of them going to the same school together. Both named LSU and Tennessee in their finalists. Amadi insists Phillips is coming to play with him, but this could easily just be recruiting games. Phillips will decide Saturday at the Army All-American bowl.
