Garrett Brumfield Signs With LSU

LSU signs top 100 Offensive Guard!

Offensive Guard Garrett Brumfield of University Lab High School in Baton Rouge officially signed and faxed his letter of intent to LSU.

Brumfield is rated as the 98th best player nationally by the 247 Sports Composite rankings. He also checks in as the #6 offensive guard and #10 player in the state of Louisiana. His offer list includes Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas, Florida, UCLA, USC and a host of other D1 schools.

Brumfield initially committed to the Tigers in April of 2013. He was elected to play in the Under Armour All-American game, where his impressive performance boosted him as a national prospect. He also garnered All-State honors. USA Today elected him as a 2nd Team All-American.

At 6'4", roughly 275 pounds, Brumfield needs to add some weight before contributing, but his athleticism, nasty streak and punch illustrate that his upside is as an all conference lineman. While Brumfield may not crack the starting lineup in 2014, don't be surprised if he's taking snaps in garbage minutes as a top reserve.
