In a bit of a shocker, the Cincinnati Bengals selected James Wright in the 7th round.
Wright finished his LSU career with 25 catches for 304 yards and 0 TDs. He did not catch a single pass in 2013. He did, however, post some strong testing numbers and standout on Special Teams. That will undoubtedly be his role in the NFL. His size and willingness to do the dirty work on Special Teams, he was Special Teams MVP in 2013, made Wright a draft worthy player in the eyes of the Bengals.
He is the 9th player drafted from LSU, tying a school record.

Congrats, James!
