After getting another #1 seed blowout out of the way, we have the next matchup of two players that will be looking to upset Shepard in the next round. One was a dominant receiver that did a little bit of everything for his team, while the other is a speedster that can outrun almost anyone. Which style advances to the next round? Let's take a closer look.
No. 4 Seed Rueben Randle
First off, lets be glad that Takkle no longer puts together highlights like this. No one wants to hear some Takkle employee's band that they are in on a recruit's highlight video. Music aside, it becomes quickly apparent why Randle was so highly ranked by every recruiting service. For a guy his size, he showcases a good amount of speed and agility to make people miss. When you are seeking a complete wide receiver, Randle fits that model to a T. He flashes his solid hands and his ability to be an end zone threat by combining all of those abilities to dominate opposing corners.
No. 5 Seed Jeryl Brazil
If you ever broke contain on Brazil, you might as well just head back to the sideline because he was gone. His combination of elite speed and agility meant the defense was always playing chase trying to bring down the speedster. We understand that he played QB for his team's offense, but we also understand he didn't play QB because of his arm so unsure why they show some of that. Fans and coaches were enamored with that breakaway speed that he showcased on almost every play. He's the type of player that everyone goes to see just in case there was that one play that would make fans go "I was there when....happened."
Both players bring a unique style that makes each of them a unique offensive weapon. While one brings the solid, prototypical receiver, the other brings the speedy, Trick Daddy "Take It To Da House"-type game-breaking ability (if you haven't noticed by now, I love that song). However, only one of these when have the unfavorable task of upsetting Russell Shepard in the next round. As The Waterboy kicker Derek Wallace put it, "Whose it gonna be?"Both players are no longer at LSU for different reasons, but both players put up impressive high school videos that put them in this tournament. Now, which one advances?
