Can't you hear ‘em?
GLORY BE! THAT WONDERFUL CLATTER!
OPEN YOUR EARS TO ALL THAT GLORIOUS NOISE!
The clinging...the clanging...those wonderful bells. Don't you remember? Those Sunday mornings. Your momma would get everybody all dressed up in your finest, to follow the call of those bells. Bringing you in to that sense of warmth. That sense of community.
You know, they say that no one is ever really alone. There's no island in the stream. Everybody...is a part of a family. And those bells remind us. They draw us in. They bring us to a place that...feels like home. They may make you feel safe. Feel like you're among friends, like everything is gonna be alright!
But then isn't that when you're the most vulnerable? When you feel safe. When your guard is down. Remember the warmth of a mother's hug? Remember when you'd wake up at night screamin'! "MAMA MAMA! I HAD A BAD DREAM!" She'd comfort you...tell you it was all gonna be okay. Tell you that the monsters weren't real. Lie to you.
BUT I WILL NEVER LIE TO YOU MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS! My truth will always ring out as clear as a bell!
But beware the toll of those bells. And ask not who they toll for.
It's for you.
