Above is the official coaches press conference for the Texas Bowl. It seems as if no press from either team was even there, so it's just the Advocare people asking questions.

Go to the Texas Bowl, get a belt buckle.

There's a lot of basketball rescheduling to report. The game at Houston has been moved up to a 4:30 start. The Oral Roberts game has moved up to a 1pm start. And the Wake Forest game the same night as the Texas Bowl has moved up to 6pm.

Will Clapp, Derius Guice and Arden Key were all named to the SEC All-Freshman team.

We'd all much rather LSU have gone to Atlanta last weekend, but it was nice to see Miles, Cameron, and Moffit watch their sons win a state championship for Catholic High-BR last weekend.

Props to local reporters at the Fox station in Nola for FOIA'ing the email correspondence between Alleva, Alexander, and various members of the LSU Board over the last month as the Miles madness was unfolding. I found it most interesting that Alleva thinks he knows who the leak in the AD's office is.

Speaking of that sorry state of affairs, it may come as no surprise to some of y'all that while LSU's athletic fundraising is some of the best in the nation, alumni giving for strictly academic purposes at LSU ranks dead last among schools in the SEC.

Some important baseball news. RHP Jake Godfrey is transferring at the end of the semester. He was 7-1 in 9 starts last year, but apparently could not hold on to one of the weekend starting jobs after fall practice ended. I missed sharing it earlier, but here's part 2 of an extensive interview Mainieri gave to The Advocate after fall ball ended, this time talking about his lineup. It seems a bit early for it, but some profile pieces of returning players are starting to pop up in the local papers. The Advocate talked to Jake Fraley about how he's setting an example for some of the younger players on the team while the Times-Pic profiled Mike Papierski and the hard work he's done this offseason to secure the catcher's job.

Here's Ricky O'Donnell at the SB Nation mothership, trying to figure out why LSU is doing so poorly with Ben Simmons.

Headline you never expected to read: Steve Nash is working on a bio-pic about Pete Maravich.

The 1st Annual Piesman Trophy, an award for the best un-lineman play by a lineman, will be awarded this evening at a ceremony in New York. Southeastern Louisiana's own Ashton Henderson is one of the 3 finalists for this scoop and score.

Long time McNeese St. head coach Matt Viator is reportedly interviewing for the vacant ULM HC job.

In a rare interview, LSU Director of Player Personnel Austin Thomas talked to 104.5 ESPN radio about lining up recruiting visits and what LSU does during the dead period.
