For the first time this season, the LSU women's basketball team had no trouble scoring. It was against a now 1-4 Texas Southern, but you have to start somewhere.
The Lady Tigers took down Texas Southern 86-36 in an early morning game targeted to the elementary kids.
Freshman Shanice Norton led the team in minutes and scoring for the first time this season.
Scoring Leaders:
- Norton - 15
- Jenna Deemer - 14
- Alexis Hyder and Jasmine Rhodes - 13
- Rina Hill - 12
Alexis Hyder grabbed nine rebounds and tallied five assists and two steals. Worth noting that she may be LSU's most consistent player. Only eight Lady Tigers were available for Tuesday's game.
"This has been a tough stretch for our team... Whether our team roster was 13 or now it's eight, we still have to play a certain way... That's really the two things that we talked about, supporting each other on the defensive end and sharing the basketball offensively, then things are going to happen for us."
