The Tigers, after defeating Oral Roberts on Saturday night, are now 6-4 on the season. They will host the American University Eagles (2-8) Tuesday evening in the PMAC. LSU is outscoring opponents 85.5 to 78.6 and American is being outscored 67.3 to 40. If LSU stays focused the team should have no problem handling the Eagles.

Keith Hornsby's return may have been exactly what Johnny Jones' struggling team needed. Since his return at Houston Hornsby has been the team's leading scorer, averaging 19.7 points a game. Star freshman Ben Simmons has added another 18.7 points per game and leads the team with 13.9 rebounds. Based solely on numbers, there is no excuse for the Tigers having lost four games. They are outscoring and outshooting opponents, and holding even in rebounding.

The Eagles' leading scorer is senior guard Jesse Reed. He is averaging 11.4 points and 4.3 rebounds a contest. LSU should seemingly have no problem handling American. The game is at home in Baton Rouge, and The Tigers are favored by 20 points. Look for LSU to jump out to a big lead in the first half with their starting lineup, and then bring in some bench players in the second half. It should be another W on The Tigers out of conference schedule, before they face several tough tests in January.

The game will be televised on the SEC Network and can be heard on 98.1 FM.
