On a quiet, rain/cold-delayed night of no baseball.

LSU Hires Ryan Pugh as Graduate Assistant (the Advocate): Pugh played offensive line for Auburn from 2007-2010, so there's some history with LSU Offensive Line Coach Jeff Grimes.

Additionally, NOLA.com has reported that the Tigers have hired Blaine Gautier, quarterbacks coach at St. James High School in Vacherie, to replace Sean Patterson as an offensive assistant. Gautier might be best remembered as a very prolific quarterback at ULL. He also threw some passes to a young Jarvis Landry as QB at Lutcher High School.

Some other notes via The Advocate with spring practice starting soon:

  • LSU's updated the football roster for 2015 to reflect the new additions for the spring, such as newly enrolled freshmen and walk-ons, as well as updating class years and letter status. Some notable number changes -- Lamar Louis from 23 to 11, Clifton Garrett from 3 to 30, Avery Peterson from 2 to 21, John Battle from 30 to 26 and Corey Thompson from 12 to 23.
  • Your 2014 redshirts: Corey Thompson, Trey Lealaimatafao, William Clapp, Garrett Brumfield, Travonte Valentine, Tony Upchurch and Jacory Washington.
