The 4-star safety from Monroe, LA has celebrated his birthday today by committing to the LSU Tigers. Lewis joined ESPN's Recruiting Nation this morning to make his announcement.
Cameron Lewis is a 6-1, 195 pound Junior from Wossman High School and is a 4-star safety according to the 247 Composite ratings. He is ranked as the No.13 safety in the country and the No. 230 player overall.
He is a true center fielder in the secondary and has excellent play recognition. His ability to cover ground so quickly is outstanding and without a doubt his best quality. This skill set will allow him to transition to a true free safety at the next level and I could see him becoming one of the premier ball hawks in the country.
Lewis has been one of LSU's main targets since his appearance at Boys From The Boot in November which is when he received his scholarship. He will become the eighth member of the 2016 recruiting class and is the only safety currently committed to LSU (Clifford Chattman is an ATH).
LSU's 2016 class is now ranked No.4 in the country in 247 Sports rankings ahead of Kentucky and behind Ole Miss.
Lewis was also being targeted by TCU, Oklahoma State and Tulane.
