Okay, now this is like picking between children.

No. 4 Fried Shrimp

Good, fresh fried shrimp are just underrated as hell. Toss ‘em in some spicy bang-bang sauce, throw ‘em on a po'boy. God I love ‘em. If you're frying shrimp at a tailgate chances are people are going to be grazing on them as soon as you get ‘em out of the grease.

No. 13 Onion Rings

Now onion rings bring a higher ceiling to the equation, but a much lower floor. Ever had a bad onion ring? Either over-battered, or not fresh with a mealy onion that you can't bite through clean? It's like a damn war crime. But well-done, crispy, lightly battered, fresh onion rings? They're on the short list even at a place like The Chimes, which is loaded with wonderful appetizer options.
