Neville, LA 5-star defensive tackle Rashard Lawrence remains one of the top targets for Ed Orgeron and staff. Lawrence ranks 5th in a loaded DT class that features four other 5-star talents. Lawrence is squared away to make his official visit to Baton Rouge this weekend. Last night, he announced via Twitter that's he nearing his decision:

All signs are exceptionally strong for LSU to pull his commitment. Throughout the process Alabama was considered the only other major contender for his services and they've since fallen off in favor of Ohio State. Only one person has crystal balled Lawrence to Ohio State... a self described "Recruiting Analyst" for a small Ohio State blog. His pinned tweet on his profile is about him being a good troll. What I'm saying is, make of that what you will.
Smart money is on LSU on this one. Lawrence visited Ohio State months ago. They lost their Defensive Coordinator this offseason, though there is a draw to playing for Larry Johnson. Virtually every strike in Ohio State's favor can be matched and favored by LSU. By all accounts Lawrence maintains a strong relationship with Ed Orgeron and Bradley Dale Peveto, and Orgeron and Peveto ha e made Lawrence a huge priority in this class.
If Lawrence picks LSU, it would further solidify LSU's grip on the no. 1 class in the nation and should also propel Peveto up to the top of the list for National Recruiter of the Year.
It's that time of year folks. Eat, drink and don't tweet recruits.
