The Ospreys come back to Baton Rouge after last year’s defeat

NCAA Basketball: North Florida at Louisiana State Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

In LSU’s (2-0) third and final tuneup game before the Battle 4 Atlantis, the North Florida Ospreys (1-2) return to the PMAC in an attempt to avenge their 119-108 shootout loss from last season. Last year’s losing effort saw Beau Beech and Dallas Moore both put up 31 points, while Ben Simmons took charge of the game with 43 points. Beau Beech has since graduated, but look out for Dallas Moore to put up crazy numbers again this season. On LSU’s side, Craig Victor’s 2 game suspension for a violation of team rules is up, and he should make his season debut tonight.

North Florida hails from the Atlantic Sun Conference, where they won the regular season title and advanced to last year’s NIT, finishing 22-12 (10-4). They lost in the First Round to LSU’s football opponent this weekend, Florida. This season, the Ospreys have already been blown out twice by Auburn (83-66) and Miami (FL) (94-56). Their lone win was against NAIA Edward Waters, coincidentally also the Tigers.

North Florida Projected Starting 5:

G - #14 Dallas Moore (Senior): 18.0 PPG, 104 career starts

G - #12 Aaron Bodager (RS Senior): 4.3 RPG, 3 career starts

G - #23 Nick Malonga (RS Junior): 1.7 APG, 37 career starts

F - #35 Chris Davenport (Senior): 4.3 RPG, 102 career starts

C - #33 Romelo Banks (RS Junior): 13.7 PPG, 2.7 BPG, 38 career starts

Come out and support your Tigers in what should be a fun, high-scoring contest. Afterwards, you can do like I will, and walk on back to your tailgate/camp site to start the party early. Follow along and join the discussion in the comments below, and/or follow my live tweeting from the PMAC @marq113.
