Your LSU Tigers (6-2) take on Texas Southern Saturday night, and while their 4-6 record makes them seem like lesser competition, it’s still a game worth winning as their RPI sits 29 spots higher than ours. Of course, that’s looking at a small sample size, as they’ve lost all three games against the very good competition of Arizona, Louisville, and Cincinnati. Either way, the LSU variety of the Tigers need to use tonight’s game and Monday’s game against Charleston wisely, as a trip to Wake Forest is only five days away.
LSU escaped with a 70-66 victory Tuesday night against NC Central, but not without trying their hardest to lose. They looked like a legitimately good basketball team against Houston two weeks ago, but all of that disappeared Tuesday, maybe with some rust. LSU needs to focus on eliminating turnovers and especially locking down better on defense. NC Central had a field day on offense in the first half, and victories after starting so slow on defense just aren’t sustainable.
Tonight’s game tips off at 5pm in the PMAC, and will be televised on the SEC Network. Follow along on Twitter via @marq113, or join the discussion in the comments below. I will add the starting lineups and score updates for each media timeout in the comments.
