Tigers Blown Out at Wake Forest

LSU’s winning streak halted in embarrassing fashion.

Wake Forest tied a school record for three-point field goals and scored 67 points in the second half to blow out LSU 110-76.

Behind a career night from Dinos Mitoglou, Wake shot 16-or-26 from behind the arc and scored in the triple digits for just the sixth time in school history. The 110 were the most points any opponent has scored on LSU in Johnny Jones’ tenure as head coach.

Mitoglou scored 28 points and shot 10-for-14 from the field, including 3-5 from three-point range. He also hauled in seven rebounds. Antonio Blakeney led the Tigers with 21, while Craig Victor and Duop Reath put up 14 and 12, respectively.

Wake led by five at the break but opened up the second half with a 9-0 run and finished with a 73.5 shooting percentage in the period, including 78.6 from three.

Not a basketball expert, but that seems pretty bad.

The loss drops LSU to 8-3 on the season with conference play opening next Thursday, Dec. 29, at home against Vanderbilt.
