One of LSU's earliest commitments in this recruiting class was finally reeled in today, as offensive lineman Donavaughn Campbell of Ponchatoula sent in his national letter of intent to LSU.
Campbell gave his verbal pledge to the Tigers last January, and stayed true as his recruitment exploded over the next 12 months, with offers from Alabama, Georgia, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Texas and Florida State. Projected as a guard, the 6-4, 347-pound Campbell is a composite four-star prospect and the No. 6 guard in the class of 2016. He is ranked as the 8th-best player in the state of Louisiana in this cycle.
