For the second year in a row the state of Texas has offered LSU a strong bounty of recruits, including two stud defensive end/linebacker prospects. One of those prospects has sent in his national letter of intent today in Killeen's Rahssan Thornton.
A composite four-star prospect, the 6-3, 225-pound Thornton played defensive end in high school, Thornton projected at linebacker when he committed to then-defensive coordinator Kevin Steele and Bradley Dale Peveto last summer. That certainly hasn't changed with new DC Dave Aranda and the prospect of a move to the 3-4. Thornton ranks 13th as a weak-side defensive end and and is No. 195 in the 247 Sports composite rankings.
