Eric Monroe Signs with LSU

Eric Monroe flashes abilities of a do-it-all safety.

Student Sports

Eric Monroe, one of the top safeties in America, just inked with LSU officially. A composite top 100 talent, Monroe hails from the recruiting hotbed of Houston, where LSU set to re-establish a foothold this season.

Monroe committed back in June and never wavered, not even using another official visit. At 6'0", 180 pounds, Monroe isn't the biggest player on the field, but you'd never recognize that in his playing style. Monroe is an aggressive and physical hitter, but also a guy who plays the ball well in the air. Monroe looks like an ideal free safety or nickel type that can patrol the middle of the field and make QBs pay for less than timely decisions. That said, he's more than willing to come up in run support as well. Monroe is a complete looking safety prospect that may be able to find early playing time across from entrenched starter Jamal Adams.
