Oh sure, you can watch an actual sports thing like LSU taking on Ole Miss in the opener of an SEC series that is huge for both teams. Or you can contribute to your disgusting football habit by watching the NFL Draft with me.
Will LSU have any players selected tonight? Probably not.
The Saints will have a pick. It probably won't be a good pick, but they'll make it, so let's react to THAT!
Or mock stupid NFL teams taking less-good college players over better ones.
This is a defensive line-heavy talent pool, especially for pass-rushers, so its curious to see if that's the direction the Saints go in. Most of the speculation centers on Louisville DT Sheldon Rankins, and its just really hard for me to get excited about him. As a general rule, I think pass-rushing DTs don't have as much value as ends in the NFL, especially when you've been as soft against the run as New Orleans has been. I just don't think he helps that. I'd much rather a true run-stuffer like Jarran Reed, or just grab a speed guy like Noah Spence. If Joey Bosa or Shaq Lawson somehow drops to the 12th pick, you sprint your backside up to turn that card in.
I'd also love to see Laquon Treadwell replace Marques Colston. Yeah, the Saints need defense, but one pick isn't going to make a big difference there. Treadwell, with Brandin Cooks, Willie Snead and Coby Fleener could quickly help put the offense back on top -- and that side of the ball did let the team down a couple of times last year.
Or y'all can just watch me explode if the Saints select a quarterback in round one.
Let's do it all TOGETHER people.
