There’s an LSU connection out of the horrible news out of Merton, Wisc., as Tiger kicker Colby Delahoussaye was involved in the wreck that claimed the lives of Nebraska punter Sam Foltz and Michigan State punter Mike Sadler.
Per police reports, a car containing the three lost control on a wet road late Saturday night, left the pavement and struck a tree. Per The Advocate, Delahoussaye was in the backseat. He was treated for injuries at the scene and taken to the hospital. Per reports, Delahoussaye’s injuries were not major, and he may have already been released. Sadler and Foltz were both pronounced dead the the scene. The three were working a high school kicking camp this weekend.
Our hearts and prayers go out to the friends and families of both Sam Foltz and Mike Sadler, and for a speedy recovery for Delahoussaye.
A senior from New Iberia, Delahoussaye has the inside track on the starting kicker position, one he held in 2013 and for much of 2014, with the news that senior Trent Domingue will be transferring to Texas as a graduate student.
