Defensive Tackle Neil Farrell Commits to LSU

Tigers land a three-star defensive tackle with a very impressive offer sheet.

Neil Farrell

Nice #outtanowhere commit for LSU with Tuesday night’s news that Mobile defensive tackle Neil Farrell has committed.

Farrell is a 6-4, 295-pound defensive tackle, and while he’s just a three-star in the 247 Sports composite, he boasts a pretty impressive offer sheet:

Alabama, Florida State, Clemson, Florida, Michigan all have offered him, but Dameyune Craig and Ed Orgeron landed him for LSU’s 2017 recruiting class.

Farrell looks like a natural fit for a 30-front defense. He plays end, and as you can see he does a fantastic job of getting his hands on the blocker and shedding blocks. That’s the kind of skillset that should fit really well in a defense that will need some linemen who can stand up blockers and cover two gaps at times. And with this offer sheet, something tells me he won’t be a three-star for long.
