First, a quick update on last week’s Women’s Football Alliance Championships. The Acadiana Zydeco beat Richmond 20-18 for the Division 3 Title. The Division 1 game that aired on ESPN3 saw DC beat Dallas 28-26. That game is still available for replay on WatchESPN.

Training camps are starting to open for both college and pro teams, but the wide world of sorta-football continues to provide the action you need to get through the dog days of summer. A full slate of CFL this weekend, though your home town favorite Hamilton Ti-cats are on a bye week. The highlight game is BC at Calgary for the West division lead. Super Rugby is coming to a close soon with the semifinals of it’s championship this weekend. Fox has your standard offerings from Austrialia with 2 AFL Premiership and NRL Rugby games each.

And if you just can’t wait any longer, know that the end is finally in sight. The first games of NAIA college football kickoff on August 25 with Pikeville (Ky.) @ Bluefield (Va.), less than a month away.
