LSU’s big string of recruiting weekends have born some fruit in the final push to National Signing Day, with three-star receiver Racey McMath committing on Friday night.

McMath, of Karr High School in New Orleans, was part of last weekend’s high-profile slate of visitors, and reportedly had shifted LSU into the driver’s seat after his official visit. Didn’t take him long to get his spot locked up.
A 6-3, 215-pound receiver, McMath joins JUCO prospect Stephen Guidry as giving LSU another big, physical target in the class along with Mannie Netherly. He marks the 14th commitment to the 2017 class, not counting the six early enrollees. And depending on what Devonta Smith and Marlon Williams do, he may be the final receiver commit in the class. Mississippi State and Texas A&M were LSU’s primary competition.
Big, smooth target that accelerates well for his size. Curious to see if he has the top-end speed, but there’s always room for big receivers here, especially that are willing to compete.
