Travis Etienne To Commit Tomorrow

Yesterday afternoon Jennings, LA running back Travis Etienne took to Twitter to announce that he would be making his decision tomorrow:

The timing of this decision is interesting as it comes ahead of his planned visit to LSU on January 27th. Last weekend, Etienne headed east, to Clemson, to visit the reigning National Champions, which has lead many on their side to have a growing sense of confidence. Yet, there’s not a single crystal ball pick to the wannabe Death Valley-ers.

Perhaps more notably, Etienne’s announcement comes fresh off a recent in-home visit from Ed Orgeron. Could Coach O have secured the commitment during that visit? It seems likely.

Tennessee fans still choose to believe they remain in the hunt here, and he did visit them on the weekend of January 13th. In their favor is the fact that of the 3 supposed finalists, LSU, Clemson and Tennessee, they are the only school that’s been on him longer than a month. LSU officially offered on December 27th. Clemson not until January 12th. But, like Clemson, not a single crystal ball pick for Tennessee has been made.

LSU sources remain pretty confident Etienne will wind up staying home and choosing LSU. I’d say it’s a pretty good bet that a kid that grew up 1.5 hours West of Baton Rouge will wind up staying in-state and playing for the home team.
