LSU is pushing through the final days of the 2017 recruiting cycle, and added another commitment this weekend, albeit one for the 2018 cycle in wide receiver Kenan Jones.

Jones is a 6-3, 205-pound receiver from Berwick, La., currently a four-star in the 247 Sports composite rankings. All the rankings are still very preliminary, but Jones is listed as the No. 46 wide receiver in the ‘18 class, and rated 13th overall in Louisiana. He is LSU’s fifth commitment in the 2018 class and first wide receiver — a position that is expected to be stacked within the state with stud prospects Terrace Marshall out of Shreveport and Devonta Jason out of New Orleans.
Jones’ size and physicality stand out, and he does a nice job of taking the ball in softly with his hands — a big plus to me. Speed doesn’t jump out, but given that he’ll likely play in the 210-215 range in college, that’s not a huge deal.
