It’s the remix to Bowlnition

Well, they did the thing:

Players are reacting:

This is a quality opponent for LSU. ND destroyed Pac-12 Champion USC and, at moments, looked like a true playoff contender. They sputtered down the stretch, but still have very quality team, in fact, they’re 14th ranking in the S&P+ makes them the 3rd highest ranked team LSU will have played all season, behind Alabama and Auburn. It should be a really nice barometer game for an LSU team that came into its own as the season wore on. As far as exhibitions go, it’s nice to have one against a team that recently beat us and that could be a great building block for a 2018 championship campaign.

That said, the whole “recently” beat us bit does sour the excitement. Bowl games are fun for rotating destinations and rotating opponents. In this, LSU gets neither. These teams played just 4 seasons ago and LSU lost on a nasty weather day, despite Leonard Fournette’s best efforts. You may recall, the Chavis is leaving saga during bowl prep, which ultimately lead to his departure the next day. LSU’s defense looked lackluster and allowed 448 yards and 31 points to a ...Malik Zaire lead... offense. Let’s hope for a bit more focus this go around.

All in all, quality opponent and Florida bowls are nice. Would have liked to see someone we haven’t in recent history, or hell, any history, like, you know, Michigan. But the bowl gods deemed LSU shall return to Orlando and claim their 2nd straight fruity trophy.

Where y’all at on this one? Pumped? Meh? Angry?
