LSU thought it had nabbed the best JUCO wide receiver in the country for this year’s class, but Louisiana native Stephen Guidry will have to spend another year working to get his grades up.

Guidry, from Morganza, was committed to LSU despite a litany of offers from schools in the SEC and throughout the southeast. He was most heavily pursued by South Carolina, Alabama, and Georgia. Guidry would have been the highest rated WR in this class for LSU, ranking ahead of others such as Mannie Natherly and Racey McMath. Guidry staying in JUCO fro another season also opens up some breathing room in this year’s class, possibly for other big names the staff have been working on.
