This four-star linebacker is not on his way. After a lengthy battle between LSU and Mississippi State, four-star linebacker Willie Gay will stay home and play for Dan Mullen’s Bulldogs.
Gay, a one-time Ole Miss commit, came down to a heated recruitment between LSU and State over the last six weeks, and at one point was even helping to recruit fellow linebacker Jacob Phillips to the Tigers. But in the end, his mother got her wish and the Starkville native will stay home. Gay is the No. 3 outside linebacker in the 2017 class.
